How you doing? I will admit this video might be a little hard to understand because the content is a little difficult to understand. So many people on the comments section ask me "How did you get your name Helm Of The Anti-Lemon". So over twenty years ago my cousin and I were playing some board games with other family members and my cousin was waiting for his turn in the game. He was pretty bored so he started taking his hand and doing some weird stuff around his head. And his sister-in-law said to him "What are you doing with your hands?". And we just messing with her so he said "I'm putting on the helm of the anti-lemon", which made no sense because it's just nonsense. And she looked at him very strangely and said "What??" And then I started laughing cause I knew it made no sense. And from that time, those words "helm of the anti-lemon" stuck in my head. So many years later when I decided I want to make a YouTube channel, I wanted to make a channel that had a name that no-one else would have. And I knew my channel would be about metal, but I didn't want it to have a metal-sounding name. I wanted to be really unique and original. So my cousin's words popped into my head "Helm Of The Anti-Lemon" and I thought that is a really funny and great name for a channel. So I gave myself the title Helm Of The Anti-Lemon. How you doing? I'm gonna do an English explanation today of why my name is Hotaru. One of the comments that I see inside the comments section is "Why is your name Hotaru?" And the reason is if you look at my Youtube channel name which is Helm of the Anti-Lemon and you take the first letter of each word which is H O T A L it spells out "HOTAL". But Hotal has no meaning in English, but if you put that in romaji it's gonna be H O T A R U : HOTARU. So that's why I'm known as Hotaru-chan whenever I do videos with Twisted Helix. Of course, amongst my non-Japanese friends on the internet, they don't call me Hotaru. They call me just "Helm" which is short for Helm of the Anti-Lemon. How are you doing? I'm gonna do another video today in English with lots of noisy cars driving by just as I'm trying to speak. So I'm gonna talk about what I miss about Japan. Because I miss Japan quite a lot. So the first thing I miss is my "mama-chari." My bike. I miss my bike. I really enjoyed riding around the city on my bike. Maybe you see the cyclists in my videos sometimes. And you have to ride your bike in the road in the UK but in Japan you can ride on the path, right? On the footpath. So it's...it's actually not... woah, look at these houses. See the flag? See the British flag there? That's a difference in culture. Like, in the UK it's err..... people think it's safer to ride in the road, see? Like that guy. See that? You have to ride in the road. And in Japan you ride on the path. In the UK it's er.... you can see the path is very narrow. It's really narrow so yeah... you can't ride on the path here. In Japan you've got bigger paths so it's easier. So anyway, I miss my bike. That's the first thing. Of course I miss the food. I miss that conveyor belt sushi. That's "kaiten-sushi" right. I really miss that. I really miss my tuna sushi, my salmon sushi. I miss all of that. I miss my ramen noodles and I miss my Japanese curry but maybe I should try making some of that sometime on my channel you know. Someone suggested that so maybe I'll do that. So I miss the food. I miss mountain hiking. I used to do mountain hiking in Japan. It's so good. I can't do that in the UK. Right, there's no mountains. There's very few mountains. There's no mountains near me here. So yeah, I can't do mountain climbing in the UK really. Not easily. So I miss that. Let me turn around actually. I miss snow boarding right, because you've got mountains in Japan with snow so you can do snowboarding. You can't do snowboarding in the UK. If you want to do snowboarding you have to go to Europe. You go to France, Switzerland... go somewhere like Switzerland and then you can do snowboarding or skiing. You can't do it in the UK unfortunately. But you can go to those places easily. So I miss that a lot. What else do I miss? I don't miss the TV. I'm not a big fan of Japanese TV to be honest. But I miss the people. Like I miss the friends I made. I miss the izakaya which is like the Japanese, kind of, pub restaurant-type place. I really miss that. And err.... I don't know. I feel like Japan is so different to the UK but in a good way. You know, I love the UK as well. I love it here but I love Japan as well so you know... there's a lot of things I miss. Maybe I'll go back sometime. How are you doing? It's another beautiful day here in the UK. So I'm gonna talk a bit about why I left Japan. Yeah! So you all know that I lived in Japan before, right? I lived there for two years as an English teacher. And it was a really great experience. So... oh wait, look at this house, look at this house. Maybe you can't see. That house has about ten cars. A lot of people living there. Anyway, so I really loved Japan. It was really great, lived there for two years. So why did I leave? There's a few reasons. Firstly, the JET Programme is only for a maximum of three years. So you have to be on the programme for a minimum of one year, maximum of three years. So I did two years and I was thinking about what I want to do for my future. So being an English teacher was ok sometimes but I didn't really feel like a real teacher a lot of the time. So I wanted to do something a bit more appropriate for me. And I wanted a new challenge, like, English teaching is fun but it's not challenging. So for me to stay in Japan and work I think is very difficult if you're not an English teacher. You can find other jobs but it's very difficult and I didn't have any real work experience before that. I worked at a theme park when I was at university but that was it. And I guess I was missing the UK a little bit. It wasn't the main reason. But I just didn't want to be an English teacher and I don't think I could find another job so I felt I wanted to come back to the UK, I was ambitious and I wanted to start a new career. So yeah, that's really why I came back to the UK. And I'm glad I came back to the UK because I love it here. Maybe I'll live in Japan again one day. Who knows. But this is a great place to live as well. So that's why I left Japan. Did you understand what I'm saying?
