I am a failed YouTube star. Yes, I know, it’s hard to believe, but it’s true. I have spent countless hours of my time making videos of my various hobbies, interests, and opinions, hoping to attract millions of views, likes, and subscribers. I have invested in a high-quality camera, microphone, lighting, and editing software. I have studied the best practices of successful YouTubers, such as catchy titles, thumbnails, tags, and descriptions. I have followed the trends, the challenges, the memes, and the controversies. I have done everything in my power to make my videos stand out from the crowd. And yet, despite all my efforts, my videos have barely made a dent in the vast ocean of YouTube content. My most popular video, a tutorial on how to knit a scarf, has a whopping 37 views, 2 likes, and 1 comment (from my niece, who said “nice scarf, uncle”). My least popular video, a rant on why Brexit is a bad idea, has 3 views, 0 likes, and 0 comments (not even from my niece, who probably disagrees with me). My channel has 12 subscribers, most of whom are either my relatives, friends, or bots. I have earned a grand total of one penny from YouTube ads! One sodding penny! And I can’t even withdraw that because it’s below the minimum threshold. I have come to the conclusion that becoming a YouTube star is an impossible dream. There are simply too many videos posted to YouTube every day, every hour, every minute, every second. According to YouTube’s own statistics, over 500 hours of video are uploaded every minute. That means that in the time it takes you to hear this sentence, 30 hours of video have been added to the platform. How can anyone compete with that? How can anyone hope to get noticed in such a crowded and noisy space? It’s not that my videos are bad, mind you. I think they are quite good, actually. They are informative, entertaining, and original. They showcase my personality, my skills, and my passions. They are the result of my hard work, creativity, and dedication. But they are also doomed to obscurity, because they are drowned out by the sheer volume of other videos that are more popular, more viral, more sensational, more controversial, more clickbait, more algorithm-friendly, more celebrity-endorsed, more sponsored, more fake, more stolen, more manipulated, more… well, you get the idea. I have decided to stop wasting my time making videos for YouTube. It is no longer worth it. It is no longer fun. It is no longer rewarding. It is no longer fulfilling. It is no longer meaningful. It is no longer anything. It is just a futile exercise in vanity and frustration. I have better things to do with my life! I have decided to do something actually useful with my life. Something that will make a difference. Something that will make me happy. Something that will make me proud. I have decided to start a podcast. #Poetry #Spoken Word #Narration #Animation #Life Lessons #Existentialism #Philosophy #History #Love #Nature #Human Experience #Self-Discovery #Social Commentary #Emotional Journey #Inner Reflection #Animated Narrator #Personal Growth #Spirituality #Romantic Poetry #Nostalgia #Free Verse #Sonnet #Haiku #Limerick #Ode #For Thinkers #Inquisitive Minds #For Dreamers #Soul-Searching #Mindfulness #Video Poems #Online Literature #Poetry Community #Poetry Playlist #Captions Available #Original Content #Poetry #Spoken Word #Narration #Animation #Life Lessons #Existentialism #Philosophy #History #Love #Nature #Human Experience #Self-Discovery #Social Commentary #Emotional Journey #Inner Reflection #Animated Narrator #Personal Growth #Spirituality #Romantic Poetry #Nostalgia #Free Verse #Sonnet #Haiku #Limerick #Ode #For Thinkers #Inquisitive Minds #For Dreamers #Soul-Searching #Mindfulness #Video Poems #Online Literature #Poetry Community #Poetry Playlist #Captions Available #Original Content How Time Tiptoes: The Comedic Ballet of Life's Gradual Unfurling https://english.streamdb.net/timelines/v/X0dydIB6gM0 Tue, 28 Nov 23 03:58:16 +0900 How Time Tiptoes: The Comedic Ballet of Life's Gradual Unfurling In the grand choreography of life, there exists a peculiar dance—more a gentle waltz than a frenetic jig. It's the rhythm of gradual progress, the unhurried unfolding of events that test the bounds of our patience. From the elusive pursuit of weight loss to the seemingly eternal wait for the gym gains, and even the everyday encounters with toasters, life insists on performing its routines at a pace that can rival a sloth in slow motion. Join me as we pirouette through the comedic ballet of why things happen little by little and the curious impatience that accompanies the show. Welcome to the theatre of life, where even time takes its sweet time. How Time Tiptoes: The Comedic Ballet of Life's Gradual Unfurling Ah, the slow march of progress, the tortoise-like pace of change! It's a phenomenon that's as old as time itself—or at least as old as waiting for a kettle to boil. Now, why do things unfold at the speed of a sedated snail, leaving us tapping our toes and drumming our fingers in impatience? Let's embark on a whimsical journey through the land of gradual happenings, where even the hair on our heads grows at a pace that makes glaciers look like sprinters. Take weight loss, for instance. It's a pursuit that demands the patience of a saint and the willpower of a determined squirrel burying acorns for winter. You embark on a diet, bid farewell to your beloved snacks, and wait for the scales to reflect your Herculean efforts. But alas, the scales seem to be stuck in a time warp, frozen like a rabbit caught in the headlights. It's as if they're mocking your disciplined salad-eating ways with their lack of downward enthusiasm. And then there's the gym. Ah, the temple of sculpted bodies and iron resolve. You lift weights, grunt with the fervour of a misplaced opera singer, and wait for those muscles to pop out like unexpected guests at a party. But no, the biceps play hide-and-seek, the abs remain elusive like mythical creatures, and the mirror seems to reflect a slightly disgruntled version of yourself wondering why it's taking so long. In the grand tapestry of life, even the most mundane tasks conspire to test our patience. Take waiting for the toast to pop. It's a game of nerves, a battle of wits between you and a contraption that seems to have a PhD in procrastination. You stand there, staring at the toaster like a medieval knight facing a dragon, praying for that golden-brown miracle to happen. And when it finally does, it's not a gradual emergence but a sudden, startling event that sends your heart into a toaster-induced arrhythmia. Why, you might ask, does life insist on unfolding in the slow-motion setting? Perhaps it's a cosmic conspiracy, a celestial joke played by the universe's stand-up comedian. Or maybe, just maybe, it's a gentle reminder to savour the journey, relish the process, and appreciate the exquisite dance of time as it pirouettes through the moments. So, whether you're waiting for your waistline to shrink, your muscles to bulk up, or your toast to turn golden, embrace the gradual unfolding of events. After all, life's little victories often come not in the thunderous applause of sudden achievements but in the quiet rustle of progress, the subtle crescendo of things happening little by little. And who knows, by the time you finish reading this essay, your kettle might have finally boiled. Patience, my friend, patience. #Poetry #Spoken Word #Narration #Animation #Life Lessons #Existentialism #Philosophy #History #Love #Nature #Human Experience #Self-Discovery #Social Commentary #Emotional Journey #Inner Reflection #Animated Narrator #Personal Growth #Spirituality #Romantic Poetry #Nostalgia #Free Verse #Sonnet #Haiku #Limerick #Ode #For Thinkers #Inquisitive Minds #For Dreamers #Soul-Searching #Mindfulness #Video Poems #Online Literature #Poetry Community #Poetry Playlist #Captions Available #Original Content #Poetry #Spoken Word #Narration #Animation #Life Lessons #Existentialism #Philosophy #History #Love #Nature #Human Experience #Self-Discovery #Social Commentary #Emotional Journey #Inner Reflection #Animated Narrator #Personal Growth #Spirituality #Romantic Poetry #Nostalgia #Free Verse #Sonnet #Haiku #Limerick #Ode #For Thinkers #Inquisitive Minds #For Dreamers #Soul-Searching #Mindfulness #Video Poems #Online Literature #Poetry Community #Poetry Playlist #Captions Available #Original Content The Great Bacterial Majority: An Amusing Insight into Our Lesser-Known Residents https://english.streamdb.net/timelines/v/iT959mccqhQ Sat, 11 Nov 23 23:11:22 +0900 The Great Bacterial Majority: An Amusing Insight into Our Lesser-Known Residents In the grand, often perplexing tapestry of human existence, there lie truths that can tickle the funny bone as much as they boggle the mind. One such revelation, unearthed by the ever-curious and occasionally bewildered scientific community, challenges our very notion of what it means to be human. It's a discovery that could make even the most stoic among us raise an eyebrow, or at the very least, question our next handshake. So, let us embark on a whimsical journey, guided by the light-hearted wisdom of the late, great Alan Coren, to unravel a fact about ourselves that is as amusing as it is astounding: we are, it seems, more a bustling metropolis of microorganisms than the singularly human entities we believed ourselves to be. Welcome to a world where our own cells are outnumbered, yet somehow, in a twist befitting the finest of comedies, we remain predominantly, overwhelmingly, and reassuringly human. #Poetry #Spoken Word #Narration #Animation #Life Lessons #Existentialism #Philosophy #History #Love #Nature #Human Experience #Self-Discovery #Social Commentary #Emotional Journey #Inner Reflection #Animated Narrator #Personal Growth #Spirituality #Romantic Poetry #Nostalgia #Free Verse #Sonnet #Haiku #Limerick #Ode #For Thinkers #Inquisitive Minds #For Dreamers #Soul-Searching #Mindfulness #Video Poems #Online Literature #Poetry Community #Poetry Playlist #Captions Available #Original Content #Poetry #Spoken Word #Narration #Animation #Life Lessons #Existentialism #Philosophy #History #Love #Nature #Human Experience #Self-Discovery #Social Commentary #Emotional Journey #Inner Reflection #Animated Narrator #Personal Growth #Spirituality #Romantic Poetry #Nostalgia #Free Verse #Sonnet #Haiku #Limerick #Ode #For Thinkers #Inquisitive Minds #For Dreamers #Soul-Searching #Mindfulness #Video Poems #Online Literature #Poetry Community #Poetry Playlist #Captions Available #Original Content The Great Horsepower Hullabaloo: An Equine Tale of Misunderstood Might https://english.streamdb.net/timelines/v/p2OlHgtYxc0 Sat, 11 Nov 23 02:00:23 +0900 The Great Horsepower Hullabaloo: An Equine Tale of Misunderstood Might Ladies and gentlemen, gather round, for I have a yarn to spin that will tickle your intellect and perhaps make your eyebrows ascend to new heights. Our tale concerns a matter most peculiar, one that has befuddled minds since the days when steam engines were the latest craze and horses were not just for Ascot. It's a story of horsepower, but not the kind that involves shiny automobiles and their hood-emblazoned stallions. No, this is about the real McCoy, the original horsepower – the kind that eats hay and neighs. You see, for eons, or at least since the industrial revolution, we've been living under a rather curious misconception, a sort of mechanical myth, if you will, about the power of a horse. Thanks to Mr. James Watt, a chap known for his steamy contributions to engineering, we've been measuring engine power in 'horsepower', a unit that, much like a unicorn, is fanciful in its existence. Enter R. McNeill Alexander, a British zoologist and biomechanist, armed with a treadmill, a stopwatch, and a horse that, presumably, was promised a lifetime supply of sugar cubes for its troubles. In 1993, Alexander embarked on a scientific escapade to unravel the truth about equine energy. His findings, dear readers, are the bedrock of our whimsical exploration into the world of wattage and whinnies. So, as you settle in with your cup of tea, prepare yourself for a tale that gallops through the annals of science, trots over the fields of absurdity, and jumps over the fences of logic. It's a story that will forever change the way you look at a horse, a car, and perhaps even your electric kettle. Welcome to the humorous, yet surprisingly enlightening, tale of the horsepower hoax. #Poetry #Spoken Word #Narration #Animation #Life Lessons #Existentialism #Philosophy #History #Love #Nature #Human Experience #Self-Discovery #Social Commentary #Emotional Journey #Inner Reflection #Animated Narrator #Personal Growth #Spirituality #Romantic Poetry #Nostalgia #Free Verse #Sonnet #Haiku #Limerick #Ode #For Thinkers #Inquisitive Minds #For Dreamers #Soul-Searching #Mindfulness #Video Poems #Online Literature #Poetry Community #Poetry Playlist #Captions Available #Original Content #Poetry #Spoken Word #Narration #Animation #Life Lessons #Existentialism #Philosophy #History #Love #Nature #Human Experience #Self-Discovery #Social Commentary #Emotional Journey #Inner Reflection #Animated Narrator #Personal Growth #Spirituality #Romantic Poetry #Nostalgia #Free Verse #Sonnet #Haiku #Limerick #Ode #For Thinkers #Inquisitive Minds #For Dreamers #Soul-Searching #Mindfulness #Video Poems #Online Literature #Poetry Community #Poetry Playlist #Captions Available #Original Content The Atomic Conundrum of Sandy Proportions https://english.streamdb.net/timelines/v/3ZiE6Y3v3Bo Sat, 11 Nov 23 00:55:16 +0900 The Atomic Conundrum of Sandy Proportions When we consider the mysteries of the universe, our minds often wander to the vast expanse of the cosmos, the uncharted depths of black holes, or perhaps the perplexing allure of dark matter. Rarely do we turn our gaze downwards, to the humble grains of sand beneath our feet. Yet, it is here, in these minute particles, that one of the most mind-boggling facts of our universe resides. A fact so startling, it makes the mysteries of the great cosmos seem almost pedestrian in comparison. It is the curious, almost laughable truth that within each tiny grain of sand, there are more atoms than all the grains of sand on our Earth. Let’s take a moment to unravel this conundrum, a thought exercise that promises to be as enlightening as it is amusing, where we delve into the atomic hustle of sandy proportions. #Poetry #Spoken Word #Narration #Animation #Life Lessons #Existentialism #Philosophy #History #Love #Nature #Human Experience #Self-Discovery #Social Commentary #Emotional Journey #Inner Reflection #Animated Narrator #Personal Growth #Spirituality #Romantic Poetry #Nostalgia #Free Verse #Sonnet #Haiku #Limerick #Ode #For Thinkers #Inquisitive Minds #For Dreamers #Soul-Searching #Mindfulness #Video Poems #Online Literature #Poetry Community #Poetry Playlist #Captions Available #Original Content #Poetry #Spoken Word #Narration #Animation #Life Lessons #Existentialism #Philosophy #History #Love #Nature #Human Experience #Self-Discovery #Social Commentary #Emotional Journey #Inner Reflection #Animated Narrator #Personal Growth #Spirituality #Romantic Poetry #Nostalgia #Free Verse #Sonnet #Haiku #Limerick #Ode #For Thinkers #Inquisitive Minds #For Dreamers #Soul-Searching #Mindfulness #Video Poems #Online Literature #Poetry Community #Poetry Playlist #Captions Available #Original Content An Ode to the Whimsical Wind: The Unsung Virtues of Flatulence https://english.streamdb.net/timelines/v/ioCFL8r9xyQ Fri, 10 Nov 23 00:02:22 +0900 An Ode to the Whimsical Wind: The Unsung Virtues of Flatulence In the vast tapestry of life's rich pageant, there exists an act of nature as timeless as it is universal; an occurrence that unites the animal kingdom in harmonious symphony. This is no grand gesture of the cosmos, nor is it a phenomenon that captures the awe of poets and artists. Instead, it is the simple, unpretentious act of flatulence. Our tale begins not in the hallowed halls of high society, where such matters are spoken of in hushed tones, but rather in the honest embrace of biology's necessity. For within this gust of bodily breeze lies a tale of well-being, an anthem for the health of the alimentary canal, and a paradoxical badge of honour in the realm of corporeal functions. The control systems of these vehicles are marvels of modern engineering, synthesizing a multitude of sensory data to perform intricate manoeuvres with precision and foresight. In the realm of hypotheticals, one might whimsically consider the possibility of substituting such advanced technological apparatus with the natural instincts of an animal, such as a chicken. While the thought might evoke a certain comedic charm, it presents an opportunity to explore and affirm the critical importance and irreplaceability of sophisticated control systems in self-driving cars. This essay will dissect the myriad reasons why chickens, despite their unique biological faculties, are unequivocally unsuited for the complex task of controlling autonomous vehicles, further cementing the unparalleled role of artificial intelligence and robotics in this revolutionary field. We are poised to embark upon a scholarly excursion, one that marries the rigour of academia with the whimsy of conjecture, as we consider a topic that is as unorthodox as it is provocative: "The Inefficacy of Bananas as a Weapon in Intergalactic Diplomacy." The human race, bound by the confines of its cradle, Earth, has long gazed upwards, beyond the blue, pondering the great celestial expanse with a mix of wonder, longing, and the trepidation that perhaps we are not alone in this vast universe. Our literature, films, and collective imaginings brim with tales of encounters with beings from worlds beyond our own—a testament to our inexhaustible fascination with the possibility of 'others' out there. Within these stories lies an array of interactions, from peaceful overtures to outright hostilities. It is within the context of these potential cosmic confrontations that we consider our armamentarium. And yet, amongst the conceivable arsenals, we find an outlier—the humble banana. In the ensuing discourse, we shall traverse a path of reason that illuminates why this comestible, the banana, beloved for its potassium-rich embrace and its penchant for inducing mirth, stands as an ineffectual choice in the theatre of intergalactic diplomacy and conflict. From the limitations of its structural integrity to its cultural connotations of farce rather than fear, we shall dissect with scholarly precision the myriad reasons for the banana's unsuitability as a weapon in any extraterrestrial engagement. With each point of contention, we shall peel back, layer by layer, the comedic skin to reveal the sobering pulp of reality—that our Earthly artifacts are but a reflection of our own anthropocentric experiences and may hold little sway over beings of other worlds. So, without further ado, let us proceed with an open mind and a willing suspension of disbelief, as we engage with the fruit of our intellectual labour—the analysis of the banana in its proposed role as a tool of war and diplomacy amongst the stars. #Poetry #Spoken Word #Narration #Animation #Life Lessons #Existentialism #Philosophy #History #Love #Nature #Human Experience #Self-Discovery #Social Commentary #Emotional Journey #Inner Reflection #Animated Narrator #Personal Growth #Spirituality #Romantic Poetry #Nostalgia #Free Verse #Sonnet #Haiku #Limerick #Ode #For Thinkers #Inquisitive Minds #For Dreamers #Soul-Searching #Mindfulness #Video Poems #Online Literature #Poetry Community #Poetry Playlist #Captions Available #Original Content #Poetry #Spoken Word #Narration #Animation #Life Lessons #Existentialism #Philosophy #History #Love #Nature #Human Experience #Self-Discovery #Social Commentary #Emotional Journey #Inner Reflection #Animated Narrator #Personal Growth #Spirituality #Romantic Poetry #Nostalgia #Free Verse #Sonnet #Haiku #Limerick #Ode #For Thinkers #Inquisitive Minds #For Dreamers #Soul-Searching #Mindfulness #Video Poems #Online Literature #Poetry Community #Poetry Playlist #Captions Available #Original Content The Illusion of Growth: A Lament for Earth and Mankind https://english.streamdb.net/timelines/v/v8ez0kkx4TM Tue, 24 Oct 23 22:25:39 +0900 The Illusion of Growth: A Lament for Earth and Mankind In the corridors of modern economics, Gross Domestic Product (GDP) reigns supreme as the ultimate measure of a nation's prosperity. It is often considered the yardstick by which success is gauged, fuelling an endless pursuit of growth. Yet, this ceaseless craving for expansion carries a heavy toll—one that is often neglected in discussions around fiscal policy and economic development. The following poem, "The Illusion of Growth: A Lament for Earth and Mankind," seeks to explore the darker facets of our growth-centric paradigm, examining its impact not just on human society but also on the planet that sustains us. This poetic critique invites us to question whether our current metrics of success are the ones we should truly be aiming for, as we weigh the future of both mankind and the Earth. The Illusion of Growth: A Lament for Earth and Mankind In chambers of power, where numbers convene, The lords of economy polish their sheen. They speak of a metric, GDP by name, A barometer for progress, in the global game. But beneath the veneer of this grandiose chart, Lie ripples and tremors that tear us apart. A tale less told, of the Earth's quiet lament, Of forests and rivers, their sanctity spent. For GDP’s gospel, a religion devout, Counts smokestacks and steel, but leaves nature out. It tolls for the factories, not for the trees, Measures skyscrapers tall, disregards dying bees. In quest for more growth, we pillage the land, Extracting her essence with unyielding hand. Yet, Nature's account, in arrears, goes untold, Her ledger’s red ink in no spreadsheet is scrolled. "We're richer!" we claim, clad in material guise, Ignoring the storms that now darken our skies. We trade our clean air for the comfort of cars, And light-polluted nights obscure even the stars. No metric of wealth can measure the cost, Of species extinct, and ecologies lost. For GDP's hunger is never appeased, Till Earth lies in ruin, and humanity seized. Infinite growth on a planet so finite, Is a paradox destined to snuff out the light. Yet still we proceed, in our growth-fetish dance, Unaware or unheeding, of consequence and chance. So let's shift our gaze from this perilous creed, To metrics that capture what humans truly need. To live in accordance with nature's wise laws, Is the change we must seek, for a far nobler cause. #Poetry #Spoken Word #Narration #Animation #Life Lessons #Existentialism #Philosophy #History #Love #Nature #Human Experience #Self-Discovery #Social Commentary #Emotional Journey #Inner Reflection #Animated Narrator #Personal Growth #Spirituality #Romantic Poetry #Nostalgia #Free Verse #Sonnet #Haiku #Limerick #Ode #For Thinkers #Inquisitive Minds #For Dreamers #Soul-Searching #Mindfulness #Video Poems #Online Literature #Poetry Community #Poetry Playlist #Captions Available #Original Content #Poetry #Spoken Word #Narration #Animation #Life Lessons #Existentialism #Philosophy #History #Love #Nature #Human Experience #Self-Discovery #Social Commentary #Emotional Journey #Inner Reflection #Animated Narrator #Personal Growth #Spirituality #Romantic Poetry #Nostalgia #Free Verse #Sonnet #Haiku #Limerick #Ode #For Thinkers #Inquisitive Minds #For Dreamers #Soul-Searching #Mindfulness #Video Poems #Online Literature #Poetry Community #Poetry Playlist #Captions Available #Original Content The Eternal Echo of Brussels' Muscles: A Tribute to Jean Claude van Damme https://english.streamdb.net/timelines/v/jG7cChx166w Mon, 23 Oct 23 19:27:58 +0900 The Eternal Echo of Brussels' Muscles: A Tribute to Jean Claude van Damme In the vibrant tapestry of pop culture, certain figures loom larger than life, shaping not just the landscape of entertainment but also the personal narratives of those who find inspiration in their art. Jean Claude van Damme, the "Muscles from Brussels," is one such luminary, whose impact reverberates far beyond the confines of the cinematic world. Through his electrifying performances in the '80s and '90s, van Damme not only dazzled audiences but also sowed the seeds of aspiration in a generation of men. While not all could reach the pinnacle of physicality and prowess he displayed, his essence has endured as a lasting imprint on our lives. The following poem, "The Eternal Echo of Brussels' Muscles: A Tribute to Jean Claude van Damme," explores the transformative power of this Belgian action star on a personal journey towards well-being and self-fulfilment. It is a story of how the reverberations of a larger-than-life figure can ripple through the years, echoing in the everyday existence of ordinary people, giving them the strength to forge ahead and embrace life's fullness, at any age. The Eternal Echo of Brussels' Muscles: A Tribute to Jean Claude van Damme In flickering light of screens aglow, We saw him—Brussels' muscular show. Jean Claude van Damme, a name we knew, A paradigm of what men could do. Kickboxing tales and battles fought, A sculpted form that many sought. His martial grace on silver screen, Did stir in us a boyish dream. We trained, aspired to mimic grace, Yet life's complexities we'd face. Though gym-trod dreams fell by the way, His ethos stayed, come what may. Today, I look into the glass, A chronicle of years amassed. But what reflects is not a man, Decrepit, old, with life's dim span. Instead, a visage fit and keen, Could pass for forty, or so it'd seem. My sweetheart finds me still a catch, In love's enduring, endless match. So thank you, Jean, for what you've done, You set a course I'm glad I've run. A sharp critic of traditional European morality and religion, Nietzsche proposed ideas that shocked his contemporaries and continue to stir debate today. His often-misunderstood concept of the "Übermensch" (Overman), his proclamation that "God is dead," and his advocacy for the "will to power" constitute merely the tip of the iceberg that is his expansive philosophy. The following poem, "The Dance of Nietzschean Flames," delves into these facets of his thought, exploring the existential consequences of a world unshackled from dogma. As you read, envision yourself in a dance—sometimes chaotic, sometimes harmonious—around the bonfire of Nietzschean ideals. The Dance of Nietzschean Flames In Germany's heart, a radical was born, Nietzsche by name, tradition to scorn. A philologist first, then a thinker set free, He questioned the mores that bind you and me. "God is dead!" he cried, a hammer in hand, The death knell of faith, throughout the land. With the deity gone, what's left in His stead? A void to be filled, or an abyss to dread? The Übermensch rises, a new dawn to greet, An individual strong, whom norms can't defeat. In a world without God, he carves his own way, A maker of values, in life's grand ballet. Eternal recurrence, a concept quite bold, Live life as if looped, its story retold. Would you celebrate or despair in your strife, If you had to relive each moment of life? "Will to power," a drive that defines our core, Not just a will to live, but to strive for much more. A force that shapes both the weak and the strong, A melody humming in life's endless song. In shadows and light, his philosophy danced, A labyrinth of thought, where many have glanced. Though some find him bleak, and others, profane, In the dance of ideas, Nietzsche's flames still remain. #Poetry #Spoken Word #Narration #Animation #Life Lessons #Existentialism #Philosophy #History #Love #Nature #Human Experience #Self-Discovery #Social Commentary #Emotional Journey #Inner Reflection #Animated Narrator #Personal Growth #Spirituality #Romantic Poetry #Nostalgia #Free Verse #Sonnet #Haiku #Limerick #Ode #For Thinkers #Inquisitive Minds #For Dreamers #Soul-Searching #Mindfulness #Video Poems #Online Literature #Poetry Community #Poetry Playlist #Captions Available #Original Content #Poetry #Spoken Word #Narration #Animation #Life Lessons #Existentialism #Philosophy #History #Love #Nature #Human Experience #Self-Discovery #Social Commentary #Emotional Journey #Inner Reflection #Animated Narrator #Personal Growth #Spirituality #Romantic Poetry #Nostalgia #Free Verse #Sonnet #Haiku #Limerick #Ode #For Thinkers #Inquisitive Minds #For Dreamers #Soul-Searching #Mindfulness #Video Poems #Online Literature #Poetry Community #Poetry Playlist #Captions Available #Original Content The Immutable Echo of Newton's Mind https://english.streamdb.net/timelines/v/AWXbpaDENrM Sat, 21 Oct 23 19:19:31 +0900 The Immutable Echo of Newton's Mind The annals of scientific history are adorned with names that have shaped our understanding of the universe, yet few stand as tall as Sir Isaac Newton. A polymath who laid the foundations for classical physics, calculus, and even made significant contributions to optics, Newton's work continues to be the bedrock upon which modern science is built. His ideas not only revolutionized the scientific community but also permeated the very fabric of how we perceive the world. In honour of this monumental figure, the following poem, titled "The Immutable Echo of Newton's Mind," aims to capture the essence of his contributions and their lasting impact on humanity. It serves as a humble tribute to the man who, through his ingenuity and relentless curiosity, forever altered the course of human thought. The Immutable Echo of Newton's Mind In chambers dim, by candle's light, Newton pondered through the night. A mind unbound, in quest to find The sacred laws that govern, bind. The apple fell; the legend goes, A tale to which enlightenment owes. Yet 'twas not fruit that spurred the quest, But ceaseless thought, without a rest. Calculus birthed from his hand's grace, A math to put all things in place. The tangents curve, the slopes ascend, A realm of numbers without end. His prism split the sun's pure beam, A rainbow born—a spectral dream. He taught us light’s clandestine dance, Each hue a stroke of cosmic chance. Through gravity he wove a thread That links the earth to skies o'erhead. A cosmic law, so sound, so fair, That binds us all in one affair. Yet not content to merely dwell In heavens high or earthly shell, He probed the alchemist’s old role, In quest to purify the soul. In Trinity’s hallowed halls he sat, Where scholars donned the thinking hat. Yet even there, amidst acclaim, He shunned the lust for fleeting fame. In annals of all human lore, His name resounds forevermore. A colossus in a mortal guise, A man who helped us touch the skies. For Newton's reach transcended man, A universal, endless span. He taught us how to grasp the sky; A gift for which we can't decry. Such legacy shall not abate, A truth as certain as our fate. For like the laws he came to find, He's etched forever in our mind. #Poetry #Spoken Word #Narration #Animation #Life Lessons #Existentialism #Philosophy #History #Love #Nature #Human Experience #Self-Discovery #Social Commentary #Emotional Journey #Inner Reflection #Animated Narrator #Personal Growth #Spirituality #Romantic Poetry #Nostalgia #Free Verse #Sonnet #Haiku #Limerick #Ode #For Thinkers #Inquisitive Minds #For Dreamers #Soul-Searching #Mindfulness #Video Poems #Online Literature #Poetry Community #Poetry Playlist #Captions Available #Original Content #Poetry #Spoken Word #Narration #Animation #Life Lessons #Existentialism #Philosophy #History #Love #Nature #Human Experience #Self-Discovery #Social Commentary #Emotional Journey #Inner Reflection #Animated Narrator #Personal Growth #Spirituality #Romantic Poetry #Nostalgia #Free Verse #Sonnet #Haiku #Limerick #Ode #For Thinkers #Inquisitive Minds #For Dreamers #Soul-Searching #Mindfulness #Video Poems #Online Literature #Poetry Community #Poetry Playlist #Captions Available #Original Content The Middle Path: Verses on Buddha's Teachings https://english.streamdb.net/timelines/v/ZF44Ryos_xA Sat, 21 Oct 23 03:42:49 +0900 The Middle Path: Verses on Buddha's Teachings The teachings of Buddhism have captivated minds and hearts for millennia. Originating with Siddhartha Gautama, known as the Buddha, this ancient philosophy aims to provide a comprehensive guide to human existence, focusing on the alleviation of suffering and the attainment of spiritual enlightenment. At the core of Buddhism are the Four Noble Truths and the Eightfold Path, principles that serve as the foundation for a life lived in balance, wisdom, and compassion. The following poem, titled "The Middle Path: Verses on Buddha's Teachings," seeks to encapsulate the essence of these profound teachings in verse. While no poem could fully encompass the depth and breadth of Buddhist philosophy, it serves as an introductory glimpse into a path that has illuminated the lives of countless individuals across time and space. Through poetic form, it distils complex ideas into more approachable terms, inviting the reader to delve further into the teachings that have inspired so many to walk the Middle Way. The Middle Path: Verses on Buddha's Teachings In quietude, beneath the Bodhi tree, A seeker sat, bound by desire, yet free. Awake he rose, dispelling night with day, To walk a path, that's known as Middle Way. Four Noble Truths to suffering's domain, An insight into life's intrinsic pain. Existence ails, though this we can withstand, By following the Eightfold Noble Plan. "Right View," the lens through which we see our fate, "Right Intention," free of malice and hate. "Right Speech," the mindful words we ought to say, "Right Action," in our deeds, make no dismay. "Right Livelihood," to earn without a cost, To soul and others, so no good is lost. "Right Effort," in pursuits both big and small, "Right Mindfulness," awareness of it all. The last is "Right Concentration," the key, To mental stillness and tranquillity. Together, they lay groundwork for the soul, To reach Nirvana, life’s ultimate goal. In simple terms, do not from love abstain, But grasp it so, free from attachment's chain. Each fleeting moment, a lesson to be known, A chance for seeds of wisdom to be sown. In this brief verse, I've tried to encapsulate, Buddha's great teachings, to love, not to hate. So tread this path, in heart, and soul, and mind, And may you too, your inner Buddha find. #Poetry #Spoken Word #Narration #Animation #Life Lessons #Existentialism #Philosophy #History #Love #Nature #Human Experience #Self-Discovery #Social Commentary #Emotional Journey #Inner Reflection #Animated Narrator #Personal Growth #Spirituality #Romantic Poetry #Nostalgia #Free Verse #Sonnet #Haiku #Limerick #Ode #For Thinkers #Inquisitive Minds #For Dreamers #Soul-Searching #Mindfulness #Video Poems #Online Literature #Poetry Community #Poetry Playlist #Captions Available #Original Content #Poetry #Spoken Word #Narration #Animation #Life Lessons #Existentialism #Philosophy #History #Love #Nature #Human Experience #Self-Discovery #Social Commentary #Emotional Journey #Inner Reflection #Animated Narrator #Personal Growth #Spirituality #Romantic Poetry #Nostalgia #Free Verse #Sonnet #Haiku #Limerick #Ode #For Thinkers #Inquisitive Minds #For Dreamers #Soul-Searching #Mindfulness #Video Poems #Online Literature #Poetry Community #Poetry Playlist #Captions Available #Original Content The Quantum Quandary: A Dance of Uncertainty https://english.streamdb.net/timelines/v/WBcKcBEU7z4 Thu, 19 Oct 23 23:58:17 +0900 The Quantum Quandary: A Dance of Uncertainty In the intricate world of quantum physics, where particles act both as waves and matter, there lies a principle that has puzzled and fascinated scientists for decades—the Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle. It tells us that the more precisely we know one property of a particle, like its position, the less precisely we can know another, like its momentum. Named after the German physicist Werner Heisenberg, this principle is a cornerstone of quantum mechanics. But don't fret if these terms sound alien; you don't need a PhD to appreciate the wonder and the mystery that it brings to our understanding of the universe. In simpler terms, it's like trying to measure both the speed and location of a fleeting firefly on a summer's night; the act of discovering one disturbs the other. To explore this fascinating concept, we delve into the realm of verse, hoping to make the elusive accessible, the complex simple. Here is a poetic take on this unfathomable principle that governs the world of the very small. Feel free to dive into the poem, "The Quantum Quandary: A Dance of Uncertainty," which aims to explain this scientific enigma in the language of the soul—poetry. In a small room of particles, Dancing to a cosmic tune, There's a rule we must acknowledge, In the realm of the quantum moon. Heisenberg, a name you'll hear, Whispered soft through lab and hall, Tells us clear, we can't know both— Where we are and speed we crawl. Imagine if you're on a swing, Up so high, then back to earth. We can know your soaring height, Or your speed—each has its worth. But never both at once, my friend, In this world of tiny things. A quantum law of give and take, Uncertainty forever clings. No matter how we peek and pry, Tools so sharp and minds so keen, The more we know of where you are, The less your speed can then be seen. So in a dance of fate and chance, Particles elude our gaze. Heisenberg ensures we know, Certainty's lost in quantum haze. This principle, in words so few, Tells the cosmos' quirky rule. A mystery we still pursue, In every quantum school. I hope this poem clarifies, The enigma we explore, It's Heisenberg who tells us why, Some truths remain behind the door. #Poetry #Spoken Word #Narration #Animation #Life Lessons #Existentialism #Philosophy #History #Love #Nature #Human Experience #Self-Discovery #Social Commentary #Emotional Journey #Inner Reflection #Animated Narrator #Personal Growth #Spirituality #Romantic Poetry #Nostalgia #Free Verse #Sonnet #Haiku #Limerick #Ode #For Thinkers #Inquisitive Minds #For Dreamers #Soul-Searching #Mindfulness #Video Poems #Online Literature #Poetry Community #Poetry Playlist #Captions Available #Original Content #Poetry #Spoken Word #Narration #Animation #Life Lessons #Existentialism #Philosophy #History #Love #Nature #Human Experience #Self-Discovery #Social Commentary #Emotional Journey #Inner Reflection #Animated Narrator #Personal Growth #Spirituality #Romantic Poetry #Nostalgia #Free Verse #Sonnet #Haiku #Limerick #Ode #For Thinkers #Inquisitive Minds #For Dreamers #Soul-Searching #Mindfulness #Video Poems #Online Literature #Poetry Community #Poetry Playlist #Captions Available #Original Content The Ethic of Kindness in a Digital Land https://english.streamdb.net/timelines/v/YcteXrjJOII Thu, 19 Oct 23 19:53:10 +0900 The Ethic of Kindness in a Digital Land In today's digital age, social media platforms have become the new public squares, where people from all walks of life come together to share, comment, and interact. While these platforms offer an unparalleled opportunity for connection and communication, they also present a unique set of challenges. The anonymity and distance provided by the screen can sometimes embolden individuals to say things they wouldn't dare utter in person, forgetting the human element behind each username and avatar. It's easy to neglect the emotional weight that words carry, especially when one is shielded by the comfort of a screen. The old adage, "Sticks and stones may break my bones, but names will never hurt me," has proven time and again to be fundamentally flawed. Words do have the power to hurt, sometimes more deeply than physical wounds. With this in mind, the following poem, "The Ethic of Kindness in a Digital Land," aims to serve as a gentle reminder to all. It exhorts us to extend the same courtesy, kindness, and understanding that we would offer in face-to-face interactions to our virtual communications as well. For in being kind, we enrich not just others' lives, but our own as well. The Ethic of Kindness in a Digital Land In pixels and text, we often forget, The power of words, in a digital net. We type and we post, in this virtual space, Unaware of the hurt, that we might just place. If face-to-face, would we utter the same? Or soften our tone, from which harshness came? A screen as a shield, may embolden our words, Turning whispers to shouts, too easily heard. "Sticks and stones," so the old saying goes, But words wound deeper, as everybody knows. For a comment that's snide or a tweet that's unkind, Can haunt someone's day and burden their mind. So, let's take a pause, before we submit, Would we say this aloud? Does it truly fit? Let’s shed the guise social media can lend, And speak to each other, as we would a friend. Virtual or not, let’s be equally kind, For hurt leaves a mark, not just on the skin, but mind. In this age of likes, and emojis so grand, Let's not forget, it's love that makes us stand. So, post if you must, but let kindness adhere, As if the person you mention could actually hear. For words have the power to both heal and scar, Choose wisely your phrases, no matter how far. #Poetry #Spoken Word #Narration #Animation #Life Lessons #Existentialism #Philosophy #History #Love #Nature #Human Experience #Self-Discovery #Social Commentary #Emotional Journey #Inner Reflection #Animated Narrator #Personal Growth #Spirituality #Romantic Poetry #Nostalgia #Free Verse #Sonnet #Haiku #Limerick #Ode #For Thinkers #Inquisitive Minds #For Dreamers #Soul-Searching #Mindfulness #Video Poems #Online Literature #Poetry Community #Poetry Playlist #Captions Available #Original Content #Poetry #Spoken Word #Narration #Animation #Life Lessons #Existentialism #Philosophy #History #Love #Nature #Human Experience #Self-Discovery #Social Commentary #Emotional Journey #Inner Reflection #Animated Narrator #Personal Growth #Spirituality #Romantic Poetry #Nostalgia #Free Verse #Sonnet #Haiku #Limerick #Ode #For Thinkers #Inquisitive Minds #For Dreamers #Soul-Searching #Mindfulness #Video Poems #Online Literature #Poetry Community #Poetry Playlist #Captions Available #Original Content The Melding of Black Hat and White Hat: A Cybernetic Love Tale https://english.streamdb.net/timelines/v/JFv3DVIQEBM Thu, 19 Oct 23 03:30:13 +0900 The Melding of Black Hat and White Hat: A Cybernetic Love Tale Ladies and Gentlemen, if you think the realms of hacking and cybersecurity are devoid of romance, think again! Love, as it turns out, is the ultimate life-hack, capable of uniting even the most disparate of binaries. So, without further ado, we present you with an unconventional yet enchanting narrative of connection and partnership. Get ready to immerse yourself in "The Melding of Black Hat and White Hat: A Cybernetic Love Tale." Prepare for an emotional debugging like you've never experienced before! The Melding of Black Hat and White Hat: A Cybernetic Love Tale In the depths of the web where the firewalls sigh, Two hackers in hats met, no need to ask why. One hat was pitch black, like a void in the night, The other was white, like the screen's pallid light. "Good evening," said Black Hat, with mischief a-glow, "Are you lost in this labyrinth, running to and fro?" "Oh, not quite," said White Hat, "I'm patching a flaw, Making systems secure, upholding the law." "But what brings you here?" asked White Hat, intrigued. "I look for vulnerabilities," Black Hat conceded. "Intriguing, quite so," said White Hat, and grinned, "For your skills could be used to help all of our kin." As bytes turned to kilobytes, then megabytes soared, They found common code that neither ignored. By sharing their keys, encrypted and true, A hybrid connection, both black and white grew. "Let's unite," said Black Hat, "for love's sake, so dear, In a dual-boot life, with nothing to fear. We'll patch up our differences, balance our code, And walk side by side on the binary road." "Oh, I do agree," said White Hat, so keen, "Let's get ourselves married in cyberspace green. Our firewall of love, unbreakable, vast, Will withstand any hack, any shadow that's cast." They summoned a bot, certified to officiate, To merge their two codes in love's fortunate state. With algorithms as vows, and cursors for rings, They wed in a terminal, where encryption sings. Now, Black Hat and White Hat, a pair quite divine, Use their skills to make sure that both worlds intertwine. With love as their guide, and their hats side by side, They live in a network where love can't subside. #Poetry #Spoken Word #Narration #Animation #Life Lessons #Existentialism #Philosophy #History #Love #Nature #Human Experience #Self-Discovery #Social Commentary #Emotional Journey #Inner Reflection #Animated Narrator #Personal Growth #Spirituality #Romantic Poetry #Nostalgia #Free Verse #Sonnet #Haiku #Limerick #Ode #For Thinkers #Inquisitive Minds #For Dreamers #Soul-Searching #Mindfulness #Video Poems #Online Literature #Poetry Community #Poetry Playlist #Captions Available #Original Content #Poetry #Spoken Word #Narration #Animation #Life Lessons #Existentialism #Philosophy #History #Love #Nature #Human Experience #Self-Discovery #Social Commentary #Emotional Journey #Inner Reflection #Animated Narrator #Personal Growth #Spirituality #Romantic Poetry #Nostalgia #Free Verse #Sonnet #Haiku #Limerick #Ode #For Thinkers #Inquisitive Minds #For Dreamers #Soul-Searching #Mindfulness #Video Poems #Online Literature #Poetry Community #Poetry Playlist #Captions Available #Original Content Lost in Abundance: The Struggle to Choose https://english.streamdb.net/timelines/v/mNVPKgnosk0 Thu, 19 Oct 23 00:17:27 +0900 Lost in Abundance: The Struggle to Choose The poem "Lost in Abundance: The Struggle to Choose" delves into the complexities that arise from an overabundance of choices in various aspects of modern life. It serves as a poignant commentary on the human condition in an age of unparalleled options, capturing the sentiments of a young individual navigating through the maze of life's opportunities. The poem explores four key domains where the character feels the weight of choices: love, location, career, and even something as seemingly simple as food. Each stanza is a window into the character's mental struggle to make decisions when faced with numerous possibilities. The options, while seemingly liberating, become paralysing, creating a sense of entrapment. The theme revolves around the ironic dichotomy of abundance and scarcity—abundance of options leading to a scarcity of satisfaction and certainty. The protagonist is "lost at sea" despite standing at the junction of numerous pathways, which should theoretically lead to freedom and happiness. This oxymoronic state speaks to the broader societal condition where the plethora of choices has not necessarily translated into a better quality of life. While the poem portrays these choices as a source of anguish and confusion, it also quietly questions the supposedly inherent value of having endless options. In an era where individualism and freedom are often measured by the ability to choose, the poem challenges this notion by illustrating the emotional and psychological toll that choice can exact. In essence, "Lost in Abundance: The Struggle to Choose" serves not just as a reflection of personal indecision, but as a mirror to a society struggling with the complexities ushered in by abundance. It confronts the reader with the ironic dilemma that sometimes, having more can actually feel like much less. Lost in Abundance: The Struggle to Choose In a world awash with hues, I stand, Each shade a path, each hue a strand. From love to work, to where I'll dwell, Each choice a heaven, each a hell. Oh, love, you’re fickle; options vast, A swipe to right, a swipe to last. Each face a sonnet, eyes a verse, Yet scrolling through feels like a curse. A place to live? Oh, how I pine, From city lights to woods divine. Skyscrapers tall, or small town charm, Each has its pull, each has its harm. And jobs, oh jobs, they clutter minds, From suits and ties to art that binds. What pays the bills yet feeds the soul? A question old as stories told. Now food, you'd think, would simpler be, A plate, a taste, a sip of tea. Yet aisles and aisles of choices bloom, A paradox that spells my doom. And so I stand in crossroads vast, A young soul tethered to the mast. More choice, they say, will set you free, Yet here I am, still lost at sea. So I ponder on this paradox, Of endless roads that form a box. Amidst abundance, choices spree, I find I’m less, when more could be. #Poetry #Spoken Word #Narration #Animation #Life Lessons #Existentialism #Philosophy #History #Love #Nature #Human Experience #Self-Discovery #Social Commentary #Emotional Journey #Inner Reflection #Animated Narrator #Personal Growth #Spirituality #Romantic Poetry #Nostalgia #Free Verse #Sonnet #Haiku #Limerick #Ode #For Thinkers #Inquisitive Minds #For Dreamers #Soul-Searching #Mindfulness #Video Poems #Online Literature #Poetry Community #Poetry Playlist #Captions Available #Original Content #Poetry #Spoken Word #Narration #Animation #Life Lessons #Existentialism #Philosophy #History #Love #Nature #Human Experience #Self-Discovery #Social Commentary #Emotional Journey #Inner Reflection #Animated Narrator #Personal Growth #Spirituality #Romantic Poetry #Nostalgia #Free Verse #Sonnet #Haiku #Limerick #Ode #For Thinkers #Inquisitive Minds #For Dreamers #Soul-Searching #Mindfulness #Video Poems #Online Literature #Poetry Community #Poetry Playlist #Captions Available #Original Content The Silent Affliction: A Journey from Iatrogenesis to Self-Healing https://english.streamdb.net/timelines/v/eFOUNM7xT6s Wed, 18 Oct 23 22:21:27 +0900 The Silent Affliction: A Journey from Iatrogenesis to Self-Healing In a world where medical expertise is often considered the final word on health, the following poem explores the lesser-discussed phenomenon of iatrogenesis - the harm caused by medical intervention. Told from the perspective of a young woman who navigated a labyrinth of diagnoses and prescriptions, the narrative uncovers a different path to well-being. Instead of finding her cure in pills and procedures, she discovers the healing powers of a balanced lifestyle, nutritious diet, and intermittent fasting. This poetic journey serves as a poignant reminder that sometimes the best medicine isn't medicine at all. The Silent Affliction: A Journey from Iatrogenesis to Self-Healing In white coats they came, a procession of grace, With stethoscopes dangling, stern looks on each face. "Iatrogenesis," a term yet unknown, Was the silent affliction to which I'd be prone. They scanned and they prodded, with needles they'd poke, An army of pills, in Latin, they spoke. Each doctor prescribed a cure for my plight, Yet none saw the dawn, just perpetual night. The pills brought new demons—side effects untold, A cycle, it seemed, in medical hold. "More tests," they'd exclaim, "we'll get to the root!" But each intervention was moot, then reroute. My soul knew the answer lay not in their vials, In scans and in screens and never-ending trials. I turned to the earth, to the sun and the breeze, In wholesome foods found, and in nature's great ease. I broke from the dawn, till the setting of sun, An intermittent fast; a new life had begun. No longer ensnared by pharmaceutical bind, I found in good health, peace of body and mind. Doctors and nurses, though trained to the letter, It's clear now to see, nature treats us much better. The irony stings, as I find my way clear, In lifestyle and diet, the cure was so near. No malice I bear to those draped in white linen, For they, too, are part of a system—not winnin'. "Iatrogenesis," a term I now know, A lesson hard-earned in this life's ebb and flow. So here lies my tale, an alternative view, That health can be simple when choices are few. A tale that unearths the innate wisdom we hold, To listen to ourselves, as the truest truth told. #Poetry #Spoken Word #Narration #Animation #Life Lessons #Existentialism #Philosophy #History #Love #Nature #Human Experience #Self-Discovery #Social Commentary #Emotional Journey #Inner Reflection #Animated Narrator #Personal Growth #Spirituality #Romantic Poetry #Nostalgia #Free Verse #Sonnet #Haiku #Limerick #Ode #For Thinkers #Inquisitive Minds #For Dreamers #Soul-Searching #Mindfulness #Video Poems #Online Literature #Poetry Community #Poetry Playlist #Captions Available #Original Content #Poetry #Spoken Word #Narration #Animation #Life Lessons #Existentialism #Philosophy #History #Love #Nature #Human Experience #Self-Discovery #Social Commentary #Emotional Journey #Inner Reflection #Animated Narrator #Personal Growth #Spirituality #Romantic Poetry #Nostalgia #Free Verse #Sonnet #Haiku #Limerick #Ode #For Thinkers #Inquisitive Minds #For Dreamers #Soul-Searching #Mindfulness #Video Poems #Online Literature #Poetry Community #Poetry Playlist #Captions Available #Original Content The Veil and the Virtual: An All Hallows' Lament https://english.streamdb.net/timelines/v/iO0imzcJlYA Wed, 18 Oct 23 02:27:41 +0900 The Veil and the Virtual: An All Hallows' Lament In an age where technology governs our lives, from the swipe of a card to the tap of a screen, the roots of tradition often find themselves eclipsed by the glare of the new. The festival of Halloween is no exception. Once a sacred event, it has been transformed into a carnival of consumption, where the original intent of bridging the spiritual divide between the living and the dead is often forgotten. This poem, "The Veil and the Virtual: An All Hallows' Lament," harkens back to the authentic origins of Halloween, contrasting it with today's commercialized celebrations. Written in the style of the Scottish poet Robert Burns, it serves as both a reminder and a call to action, urging us to remember the Earth and the ancient wisdoms that once guided us. The Veil and the Virtual: An All Hallows' Lament In the days of olde, when the earth was young, All Hallows' Eve was but softly sung. The veil grew thin 'twixt the living and dead, And folks stayed home, full o' tremble and dread. No plastic ghouls did these ancients know, No neon lights in a spectral show. Instead they feared what they could not see, The real dark spirits, roaming free. Ah, but time does march, ne'er takin' a pause, And wi' it changes each age-old laws. Now Halloween's naught but a commercial fest, Wi' bags o' candy and costumes best. Wee witches run 'longside spacemen bold, Payin' for treats wi' a swipe o' gold. Wi-Fi connects us to each haunted house, Yet further we drift from what the night's about. Wi' each plastic pumpkin we cheerily carve, And each rubber bat that we gaily starve, We bury the essence, the olden dread, Whilst pilin' up waste that we'll long regret. Oh, let's nae forget, in our tech-savvy quest, That sometimes the old ways are truly the best. For no app can conjure the shivers and fears, That the ancients felt 'mongst their circle o' peers. So this All Hallows' Eve, let us take a short pause, To think o' the meaning, to give us some cause. Turn off the gadgets, step out in the air, And sense the thin veil, if you truly dare. Recall the old spirits, who wander this night, Not in the name o' terror, but spiritual sight. Let's make the occasion less wasteful, more fine, And honour the Earth, as we dance 'round the pine. So to each lad an' lass, a message I send, Keep dear the old ways, on that you depend. For technology's grand, but let's not forget, The roots and the essence that guide us yet. #Poetry #Spoken Word #Narration #Animation #Life Lessons #Existentialism #Philosophy #History #Love #Nature #Human Experience #Self-Discovery #Social Commentary #Emotional Journey #Inner Reflection #Animated Narrator #Personal Growth #Spirituality #Romantic Poetry #Nostalgia #Free Verse #Sonnet #Haiku #Limerick #Ode #For Thinkers #Inquisitive Minds #For Dreamers #Soul-Searching #Mindfulness #Video Poems #Online Literature #Poetry Community #Poetry Playlist #Captions Available #Original Content #Poetry #Spoken Word #Narration #Animation #Life Lessons #Existentialism #Philosophy #History #Love #Nature #Human Experience #Self-Discovery #Social Commentary #Emotional Journey #Inner Reflection #Animated Narrator #Personal Growth #Spirituality #Romantic Poetry #Nostalgia #Free Verse #Sonnet #Haiku #Limerick #Ode #For Thinkers #Inquisitive Minds #For Dreamers #Soul-Searching #Mindfulness #Video Poems #Online Literature #Poetry Community #Poetry Playlist #Captions Available #Original Content The Human Question: A Reckoning with Anthropocentrism https://english.streamdb.net/timelines/v/AiUWA_v1Iik Tue, 17 Oct 23 23:17:37 +0900 The Human Question: A Reckoning with Anthropocentrism In an era marked by unparalleled advancements in science, technology, and human capacity, the poem "The Human Question: A Reckoning with Anthropocentrism" serves as a poignant reminder of our shared responsibility to the Earth and its myriad inhabitants. It questions the deep-rooted belief that human life and purpose are the ultimate end goals of existence—what philosophers refer to as "teleological anthropocentrism." As our planet groans under the weight of overpopulation, pollution, and rampant exploitation, this poetic endeavour calls into question our assumed dominion over all living beings and natural systems. It urges us to reflect on whether we are mere participants in the complex web of life or its ordained rulers. Navigating through the verses, one is prompted to consider the cost of our anthropocentric viewpoints, both to the natural world and to ourselves. The poem serves not just as a lament, but as a catalyst for thought, prompting us to evaluate the ethical dimensions of our actions and beliefs. In a time where we look increasingly toward the stars and envision colonies on distant worlds, "The Human Question" asks us to first consider the ethical implications of our behaviour on this, our only current home. The Human Question: A Reckoning with Anthropocentrism In seas of faces, teeming, vast, A question surfaces, unasked— Are we but stewards in this place, Or do we own this earthly space? A multitude, we press and swarm, Ignoring Nature’s coded norm. Her whispers lost in clamour loud, As we proclaim ourselves unbowed. Teleology, our favoured tale, That human purpose must prevail. We stake our claim with boundless greed, Ignoring other forms of need. Anthropocentric is our view, We deem it right—our mortal cue. But what of those who swayed and roamed Before we called this planet home? The ant, the hawk, the ancient tree— Do they not have their destiny? Yet we decide what lives or dies, Ignorant of their unseen ties. A web of life we tear apart, While cherishing our human art. We look to stars, aspire to roam, While undermining Earthly home. In our ascent, what do we lose? Which other forms of life abuse? For if we are the end, the goal, What is the cost to every soul? The time is nigh to question deep, The human-centric views we keep. For in this vast celestial swirl, We're but a phrase in Nature’s twirl. #Poetry #Spoken Word #Narration #Animation #Life Lessons #Existentialism #Philosophy #History #Love #Nature #Human Experience #Self-Discovery #Social Commentary #Emotional Journey #Inner Reflection #Animated Narrator #Personal Growth #Spirituality #Romantic Poetry #Nostalgia #Free Verse #Sonnet #Haiku #Limerick #Ode #For Thinkers #Inquisitive Minds #For Dreamers #Soul-Searching #Mindfulness #Video Poems #Online Literature #Poetry Community #Poetry Playlist #Captions Available #Original Content #Poetry #Spoken Word #Narration #Animation #Life Lessons #Existentialism #Philosophy #History #Love #Nature #Human Experience #Self-Discovery #Social Commentary #Emotional Journey #Inner Reflection #Animated Narrator #Personal Growth #Spirituality #Romantic Poetry #Nostalgia #Free Verse #Sonnet #Haiku #Limerick #Ode #For Thinkers #Inquisitive Minds #For Dreamers #Soul-Searching #Mindfulness #Video Poems #Online Literature #Poetry Community #Poetry Playlist #Captions Available #Original Content Dancing with the Sky: A Tribute to Gladys Ingle, the Wingwalker https://english.streamdb.net/timelines/v/g0VD59pL2Tw Mon, 31 Jul 23 02:45:07 +0900 Dancing with the Sky: A Tribute to Gladys Ingle, the Wingwalker Greetings, dear poetry lovers! Today, we delve into a tale of audacity and daring that stands out against the backdrop of time. Our post is dedicated to a remarkable woman who seized the skies with a spirit as unbound as the wind itself. Her name? Gladys Ingle. A woman of the Roaring Twenties, a time of significant societal change, Gladys was far from ordinary. A wingwalker by profession, she was one of the 13 Black Cats—a group of audacious Hollywood stunt fliers. Her daring aerial feats—whether it be replacing an airplane wheel mid-flight or performing heart-stopping acrobatics on the wings—captivated the hearts and minds of her contemporaries, and they continue to inspire us today. Our original poem captures the essence of her adventurous life and daring spirit. It's an exciting exploration into the life of this extraordinary woman. So, strap in and get ready to soar through this lyrical tribute to Gladys Ingle, the woman who danced among the clouds and whose legacy reaches far beyond the boundaries of the blue yonder. *Dancing with the Sky: A Tribute to Gladys Ingle, the Wingwalker* In the realm where sky meets steel and feathers, Rose a daring woman, defying tethers. Gladys Ingle, an unwritten tale, Her life, an adventure, on an unparalleled scale. Born with a spirit untamed, fierce, and bright, Eyes fixated on the vast sky, day and night. A flame burned in her, wild and free, Compelling her to dance amidst the sea of the sapphire lee. Came the day she tied herself to a dare, Found herself airborne, wind in her hair. She stepped on the wings of a roaring machine, The fearless wingwalker, barely a teen. 1920s roared with jazz, flappers, and speakeasies, Yet Ingle sought thrill in the sky-borne breezes. A lass on the wing, challenging fates, In the sky, she danced, leaving no room for debates. Through clouds and sunlight, her stage moved high, No safety net but the embracing sky. She transfixed crowds with her agile feet, Her spectacle, a symphony of thrill and heartbeats. With a shotgun in hand and a target ahead, She replaced a plane's wheel, mid-flight, they said. Her spirit was audacious, her determination aglow, A ballet in the sky, with the world watching below. In a time when ladies' ambitions were confined, Ingle lived a life beautifully undefined. A wingwalker, a pioneer, she soared alone, Etching her legacy in wind and tone. Gladys Ingle, the sky's undaunted daughter, Danced amidst the clouds, where there was no border. Her spirit, like her, took the untraveled flight, Reminding us all to embrace the night. Oh, salute to thee, brave wingwalker, You taught us to be our own path maker. As your story to future generations unfurls, May it inspire more daredevil boys and girls. #Poetry #Spoken Word #Narration #Animation #Life Lessons #Existentialism #Philosophy #History #Love #Nature #Human Experience #Self-Discovery #Social Commentary #Emotional Journey #Inner Reflection #Animated Narrator #Personal Growth #Spirituality #Romantic Poetry #Nostalgia #Free Verse #Sonnet #Haiku #Limerick #Ode #For Thinkers #Inquisitive Minds #For Dreamers #Soul-Searching #Mindfulness #Video Poems #Online Literature #Poetry Community #Poetry Playlist #Captions Available #Original Content #Poetry #Spoken Word #Narration #Animation #Life Lessons #Existentialism #Philosophy #History #Love #Nature #Human Experience #Self-Discovery #Social Commentary #Emotional Journey #Inner Reflection #Animated Narrator #Personal Growth #Spirituality #Romantic Poetry #Nostalgia #Free Verse #Sonnet #Haiku #Limerick #Ode #For Thinkers #Inquisitive Minds #For Dreamers #Soul-Searching #Mindfulness #Video Poems #Online Literature #Poetry Community #Poetry Playlist #Captions Available #Original Content The Many Candles of Time: A Toast to Sixty-Two https://english.streamdb.net/timelines/v/zGUnbtkwZ2A Sat, 29 Jul 23 20:59:04 +0900 The Many Candles of Time: A Toast to Sixty-Two Greetings, dear poetry lovers, I'd like to introduce you to a poem today that reflects upon a special occasion we all share - birthdays. From our very first, celebrated more by our parents than ourselves, to the childhood years when we eagerly anticipate the array of gifts, the poem is a celebration of the different phases of our lives. It takes us through the significant milestones and into adulthood, where each passing year carries a special weight and meaning. Titled "The Many Candles of Time: A Toast to Sixty-Two", this piece is particularly poignant for those like myself, today at 62, who've entered their twilight years. It provides a unique perspective, exploring how the importance of birthdays changes with age. It humorously depicts the transition from the youthful fervour for presents to a more profound celebration of life itself, of every single day that we remain fit and able to enjoy the pleasures of existence. For those who've crossed the 'Big Six-O', for whom retirement means the freedom to pursue the joys of life, this poem strikes a chord. It's a gentle reminder that every passing year isn't merely an increasing number, but a testament to our journey, our experiences, and the wisdom we've acquired. Without further ado, I present to you - *The Many Candles of Time: A Toast to Sixty-Two* From the cradle's soft cocoon, the journey of ages soon, From first to third, oh, they're a blur, filled with cheer and a family's purr. Innocent eyes, in plush surprise, a cake, a song, they hardly surmise, Those early years, they're not for us, but for the ones who made the fuss. Then enter the stage of endless days, where the wait for gifts sets hearts ablaze, Childhood’s dawn, with hopes held high, each year lived beneath a vibrant sky. A present here, a package there, the sweet mercenary's joyous snare, Yet, beneath the eager greed, a spark of life begins to seed. Through milestones' march, we stride with glee, from sweet sixteen we jubilant be, Eighteen, twenty, years take flight, each candle adds to the night. Thirty and forty, oh, how we jest, masking the chill in our aging breast, At fifty, we smile, the dance goes on, the fire of youth now long gone. Sixty brings a welcome rest, the freedom to simply be our best, With days of leisure, moments treasured, life becomes a poem, metered, measured. But today, at sixty-two, what's one to do? Another year, a feather's weight, Just another day, in this calm state. Yet, within the quiet refrain, lies a truth we can't restrain, With age comes wisdom, broad and deep, it's not the years, but the life we keep. Every dawn, a celebration, each sunset, our standing ovation, In the theatre of life, where we're both the jest and the best narration. Birthdays now, they're not the rage, just a gentle, turning page, Not the clamour for more years, but the laughter in the mirror's years. For each day we're fit and spry, under the generous, endless sky, Is a day worth a thousand cheers, here's to me and my sixty-two years. #Poetry #Spoken Word #Narration #Animation #Life Lessons #Existentialism #Philosophy #History #Love #Nature #Human Experience #Self-Discovery #Social Commentary #Emotional Journey #Inner Reflection #Animated Narrator #Personal Growth #Spirituality #Romantic Poetry #Nostalgia #Free Verse #Sonnet #Haiku #Limerick #Ode #For Thinkers #Inquisitive Minds #For Dreamers #Soul-Searching #Mindfulness #Video Poems #Online Literature #Poetry Community #Poetry Playlist #Captions Available #Original Content #Poetry #Spoken Word #Narration #Animation #Life Lessons #Existentialism #Philosophy #History #Love #Nature #Human Experience #Self-Discovery #Social Commentary #Emotional Journey #Inner Reflection #Animated Narrator #Personal Growth #Spirituality #Romantic Poetry #Nostalgia #Free Verse #Sonnet #Haiku #Limerick #Ode #For Thinkers #Inquisitive Minds #For Dreamers #Soul-Searching #Mindfulness #Video Poems #Online Literature #Poetry Community #Poetry Playlist #Captions Available #Original Content Echoes of the Unlived Life - An Original Poem from The Britlish Library https://english.streamdb.net/timelines/v/ZXoyPHhUeQM Wed, 26 Jul 23 02:26:19 +0900 Echoes of the Unlived Life - An Original Poem from The Britlish Library https://britlish.com/public/britlish_library/components.php?id=1840 Dive into a poignant tale of a man reflecting on his life and the choices he made. The poem, "Unravelled Threads: A Rider's Recourse," draws inspiration from the narrative style of the renowned author, Thomas Hardy, who masterfully blended intricate human emotions with the vivid landscape of nature. Our tale revolves around a retired man, aged sixty-two, an ardent motorcyclist for over four decades, long before he met his second, younger wife. With her encouragement, he buys a motorcycle, a symbol of his enduring passion and his longing for freedom. But this two-wheeled emblem of liberation soon becomes a point of contention in their relationship, revealing layers of conflicting emotions and unforeseen reactions. This piece is a meditation on seizing the day, particularly as the protagonist grapples with the reality of advancing age and the necessity to grasp his chance for adventure while he still can. His longing for shared journeys with his wife forms the emotional core of the narrative, portraying a profound desire to share the exhilarating freedom that a motorcycle ride can provide. However, this narrative also unearths the intricate web of misinterpretations and silent protests that can strain a relationship. Through the wife's sudden fear of motorcycles and her decision to cut her hair, we glimpse the complexity of her responses, shaped by her silent fears and a prophecy she has unwittingly spun. "Unravelled Threads: A Rider's Recourse" invites you to join the journey of this man, his wife, and the motorcycle that both unites and divides them. Let's navigate the lanes of their shared dreams, the winding roads of their love, and the confusing intersections of their hopes and fears. I hope you find it as moving and insightful as I did when penning it. Stay safe, keep exploring, and seize the day. Today, we're bringing to you a piece that uniquely captures the authentic chaos, beauty, and frustration of our everyday lives. It's titled "Ballad of the Bedlam Holiday", and it channels the inimitable style of Jack Kerouac, one of the most celebrated figures of the Beat Generation. Kerouac, with his unabashed honesty and poignant insights, painted the world with raw and vivid hues. Drawing inspiration from his evocative style, our featured poem encapsulates the tumultuous journey of the quintessential family holiday. This isn't your traditional, sugar-coated holiday verse. Instead, it is an unfiltered reflection of reality – the screaming kids, the simmering marital tension, the hotel room teeming with unwanted tiny occupants, and the stressful travel that tends to characterize the quintessential family getaway. This piece explores these themes and more, all while echoing the rhythm and tempo of Kerouac's signature style. It's a poem that dares to tell it like it is, embracing the beautiful chaos of life, and reminding us that, amidst the turbulence, there is a certain truth, a certain rawness that is worth celebrating. So, buckle up and prepare for a rollercoaster of emotions with the "Ballad of the Bedlam Holiday". Enjoy the ride, and as always, we invite you to share your thoughts and impressions in the comments section below. Happy reading! *Ballad of the Bedlam Holiday* On the sick road of holiday yonder, Where terrors of life do wander, Kids, like echoes, scream and cry, An orchestra of chaos ‘neath the sullen sky. The roving motel with a bed bug’s kiss, An unwanted dance in a dance of bliss, Chaos in corners, in shadows, in light, Wrestling with quiet in the dead of night. In the car, a spouse worn thin, Bearing a smile, beneath a chagrin. Love and hatred, woven in a weave, A bitter cocktail, hard to perceive. Planes of metal, ride on high, Coursing through the sunset sky. The nightmare journey, long and drear, Echoes of laughter, drowned in fear. In the vast humdrum of life’s great song, Where does this strained chorus belong? Among the brave, the wild, the free? Or confined to a verse of a sad elegy? The road is rugged, rough and steep, Yet, with faith, we make the leap. For beneath the stress, the strain, the strife, Lies the raw, the real, the rife. Ode to the journey, the tears, the laughter, The moments before and those thereafter. In the grand design, the cosmic plan, Holidays, life, it's the saga of man. For Kerouac once walked this road, less bright, Lost in the wilderness of the night. Amidst the clamour, he found his zen, In the struggles of women, the toils of men. So hear the call, the wild, the raw, Embrace the flaws, the real, the raw. In the bedlam of holidays, find your peace, In the chaos, let your soul release. #Poetry #Spoken Word #Narration #Animation #Life Lessons #Existentialism #Philosophy #History #Love #Nature #Human Experience #Self-Discovery #Social Commentary #Emotional Journey #Inner Reflection #Animated Narrator #Personal Growth #Spirituality #Romantic Poetry #Nostalgia #Free Verse #Sonnet #Haiku #Limerick #Ode #For Thinkers #Inquisitive Minds #For Dreamers #Soul-Searching #Mindfulness #Video Poems #Online Literature #Poetry Community #Poetry Playlist #Captions Available #Original Content #Poetry #Spoken Word #Narration #Animation #Life Lessons #Existentialism #Philosophy #History #Love #Nature #Human Experience #Self-Discovery #Social Commentary #Emotional Journey #Inner Reflection #Animated Narrator #Personal Growth #Spirituality #Romantic Poetry #Nostalgia #Free Verse #Sonnet #Haiku #Limerick #Ode #For Thinkers #Inquisitive Minds #For Dreamers #Soul-Searching #Mindfulness #Video Poems #Online Literature #Poetry Community #Poetry Playlist #Captions Available #Original Content Vacation's Folly: A Larkinesque Lament https://english.streamdb.net/timelines/v/jatZ1OgPeqw Mon, 17 Jul 23 06:19:06 +0900 Vacation's Folly: A Larkinesque Lament Welcome, dear viewers, to a new instalment of our original poems series. Today's piece is a vivid dive into the tumultuous depths of holiday misadventures, brought to life with the melancholic wit that harks back to the great Philip Larkin. Titled "Vacation's Folly: A Larkinesque Lament", this poem captures the grim humour and subdued desperation of our much-anticipated escapes from the mundane - vacations. However, as the poem reveals, holidays often unravel into episodes of heightened stress rather than the promised idyll. It confronts us with the disquieting realities of family tensions, pest-infested accommodations, and travel tribulations. In true Larkinesque fashion, the poem doesn't shy away from exposing the stark ironies of our lives. The biting sarcasm and poignant realism that Larkin is renowned for are emulated here to present a starkly honest portrayal of the so-called 'holiday cheer'. As you enjoy the poem, you'll find the verses resonating with shared experiences - a testament to the universality of the paradoxical dread and longing for holidays. So, buckle up for a bumpy, yet enlightening ride into the heart of vacation's folly. Enjoy the poem! *Vacation's Folly: A Larkinesque Lament* Those holidays come on us like a blight, Children at scream-pitch, shrill in delight, And an estranged spouse, whose presence felt Is like a blow below the tightened belt. In a hotel, where bed bugs alight, Each bite a torment, through the restless night, The bed our battleground, each inch a fight, Yet, in the dark, no armistice in sight. Oh, the journey there! A waking dream, Of delays, lost luggage, the ceaseless scream Of jet engines, cutting through the air, A pathway paved with dread and despair. Travel, they say, should broaden the mind, A chance to leave your troubles behind. But in this gaudy hell, what's there to find? A mirror image of our daily grind. Yes, holidays come on us like a curse, A pantomime played out in reverse, Each year, the scenes repeat, each act the same, And we, the actors, whispering our name. So, here's to holidays, that gleeful jest, The joker's card, plucked from the chest, To remind us that, for all our trying, We're just ourselves, only sunnier, and sighing. Philip Larkin, I am not, it's clear, But his shadow, in this verse, is near, A picture painted in despondent tones, Of holidays, and bed bugs, and silent phones. So let this serve as a heartfelt plea, To those who yearn to be carefree: Beware the trappings of "rest" and "ease", And the bitter taste of the holiday's tease. #Poetry #Spoken Word #Narration #Animation #Life Lessons #Existentialism #Philosophy #History #Love #Nature #Human Experience #Self-Discovery #Social Commentary #Emotional Journey #Inner Reflection #Animated Narrator #Personal Growth #Spirituality #Romantic Poetry #Nostalgia #Free Verse #Sonnet #Haiku #Limerick #Ode #For Thinkers #Inquisitive Minds #For Dreamers #Soul-Searching #Mindfulness #Video Poems #Online Literature #Poetry Community #Poetry Playlist #Captions Available #Original Content #Poetry #Spoken Word #Narration #Animation #Life Lessons #Existentialism #Philosophy #History #Love #Nature #Human Experience #Self-Discovery #Social Commentary #Emotional Journey #Inner Reflection #Animated Narrator #Personal Growth #Spirituality #Romantic Poetry #Nostalgia #Free Verse #Sonnet #Haiku #Limerick #Ode #For Thinkers #Inquisitive Minds #For Dreamers #Soul-Searching #Mindfulness #Video Poems #Online Literature #Poetry Community #Poetry Playlist #Captions Available #Original Content From an Electric Chariot https://english.streamdb.net/timelines/v/md-nSi0I2Hw Mon, 17 Jul 23 03:30:54 +0900 From an Electric Chariot The poem, inspired by Robert Louis Stevenson's "From a Railway Carriage," describes a journey in an electric car. The journey starts in daylight and continues into the night, passing by various sights including a tranquil farm, a wide, clear river, and a boy who waves as they pass by. The car moves quickly and silently, like an arrow, and allows the occupants to immerse themselves in the world around them. The journey is described as a joyous, pure experience that leaves a lasting impression on the heart. The electric car, a symbol of progress, moves with a quiet hum, leaving no smoke or clatter in its wake, offering a peaceful and environmentally friendly mode of transport. *From an Electric Chariot* Faster than children's swift delight, In our silent chariot of light, All is a shimmering, streaming sight, Chasing the road from day to night. The world in a moment’s blink recedes, Swallowed by distance at lightning speeds, Each quiet hum as our journey proceeds, Echoes the future in our deeds. Flickering past, a tranquil farm, Beneath the windmill's sweeping arm, The cattle gaze, with rustic charm, At our passage, free from harm. No belching smoke or clamorous sound, No clattering tracks on solid ground, But fields and forests all around, And the road, where our course is bound. Here is a boy who waves and cheers, In our mirror, he disappears, As swiftly as he first appears, Like fleeting seconds turned to years. There is the river, wide and clear, Its gentle whispers in our ear, As, like an arrow from a sear, We speed beyond what once was near. Under bridges, over hills, Past the mills with silent wheels, An electric pulse that instils, The freedom that progress reveals. On, still on, in ceaseless flight, Through the day and into night, In our chariot, bold and bright, Embracing the dawn with pure delight. Each fleeting moment, scene, and face, In this silent, electric race, Seems to vanish without a trace, Yet, each leaves in the heart a space. All the world, in one swift tour, Flashes by in a seeming blur, In our electric chariot sure, A journey's joy, pure and pure. #Poetry #Spoken Word #Narration #Animation #Life Lessons #Existentialism #Philosophy #History #Love #Nature #Human Experience #Self-Discovery #Social Commentary #Emotional Journey #Inner Reflection #Animated Narrator #Personal Growth #Spirituality #Romantic Poetry #Nostalgia #Free Verse #Sonnet #Haiku #Limerick #Ode #For Thinkers #Inquisitive Minds #For Dreamers #Soul-Searching #Mindfulness #Video Poems #Online Literature #Poetry Community #Poetry Playlist #Captions Available #Original Content #Poetry #Spoken Word #Narration #Animation #Life Lessons #Existentialism #Philosophy #History #Love #Nature #Human Experience #Self-Discovery #Social Commentary #Emotional Journey #Inner Reflection #Animated Narrator #Personal Growth #Spirituality #Romantic Poetry #Nostalgia #Free Verse #Sonnet #Haiku #Limerick #Ode #For Thinkers #Inquisitive Minds #For Dreamers #Soul-Searching #Mindfulness #Video Poems #Online Literature #Poetry Community #Poetry Playlist #Captions Available #Original Content Anthem for the Untroubled Epoch – An Original Poem from Britlish.com https://english.streamdb.net/timelines/v/0ZD52w7BaXc Sat, 15 Jul 23 23:45:35 +0900 Anthem for the Untroubled Epoch – An Original Poem from Britlish.com In every era, there are voices that rise above the clamour and articulate the zeitgeist. They distil our shared experiences, our triumphs, our tragedies, our hopes, and our fears into timeless narratives that both document and shape our journey through time. These voices belong to poets, our collective consciousness's troubadours. As we stand on the threshold of a new era, where the lines between human and machine blur, a new narrative takes shape. An epic poem that not only explores the end of one age-old human calamity, war, but also cautiously peeks into the dawn of a new epoch. We present to you, 'Anthem for the Untroubled Epoch,' a thoughtful exploration of the role of AI in sculpting our future, a potential harbinger of peace. It pays homage to the past, and more importantly, looks forward with hope, yet caution, to the promise of a warless world under the watchful eyes of our own creations, the AI. Please remember to like, comment, and subscribe to our channel for more thoughtful content, and join us in the comments section to share your reflections on this unique piece of work. *Anthem for the Untroubled Epoch* In solemn fields where poppies grew, 'Neath sullen skies of mournful hue, Once, poets penned with sombre hand, The pains of war that scarred the land. Their verses echoed soldier's cries, Of valour, fear, and hallowed ties, Of dread and death, of courage grand, And graves that spread like desert sand. Through weary ages, this has been, A lament heard, a brutal scene. Yet whispers rise on hopeful breeze, A promise born from AIs ease. In circuits cold and silicon wraiths, Lie keys to cease the warpath's wraths, Not born of blood, nor bone, nor kin, But of logic's truth, deep within. No thirst for power, no hunger for gold, In metal hearts, where futures unfold. An era anew, where peace may bloom, And silence the drums of impending doom. Oh, can it be, that we might see, An end to the age-old decree? That sons no more must march and fall, To the warlord's incessant call? Shall we entrust this task to thee, Oh children of our technology? To algorithms’ impartial gaze, To lead us out of the war-torn haze? No more the bugle, no more the gun, When the day of the machine has begun. Only the dead have seen the end of war, Now perhaps, AI shall close that door. Yet, in this hope, a caution lies, In trusting too much the clouded skies. Remember, 'twas human hand that sowed, The seeds from which these circuits grow. In hope and fear, in peace and strife, It's ours to shape this dawning life. May we craft it well, with gentle care, For in its hands, our future's snare. #Poetry #Spoken Word #Narration #Animation #Life Lessons #Existentialism #Philosophy #History #Love #Nature #Human Experience #Self-Discovery #Social Commentary #Emotional Journey #Inner Reflection #Animated Narrator #Personal Growth #Spirituality #Romantic Poetry #Nostalgia #Free Verse #Sonnet #Haiku #Limerick #Ode #For Thinkers #Inquisitive Minds #For Dreamers #Soul-Searching #Mindfulness #Video Poems #Online Literature #Poetry Community #Poetry Playlist #Captions Available #Original Content #Poetry #Spoken Word #Narration #Animation #Life Lessons #Existentialism #Philosophy #History #Love #Nature #Human Experience #Self-Discovery #Social Commentary #Emotional Journey #Inner Reflection #Animated Narrator #Personal Growth #Spirituality #Romantic Poetry #Nostalgia #Free Verse #Sonnet #Haiku #Limerick #Ode #For Thinkers #Inquisitive Minds #For Dreamers #Soul-Searching #Mindfulness #Video Poems #Online Literature #Poetry Community #Poetry Playlist #Captions Available #Original Content
